Our Team
Kim Sénéchal, MSPT
Therapist

Kim graduated from Andrews University in Michigan with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 2000. She moved to the Comox Valley later that year to begin working and acquired the Ascent Physiotherapy in 2001.

Kim has post-graduate training in orthopaedic manual and manipulative therapy as well as sports medicine and treats a wide variety of patients in the clinic. She also provides services to the residents of Glacier View Lodge. She strives to give each client personal, caring service with a smile.

In her spare time, Kim loves spending time with her young son, and enjoys running, hiking and skiing.

Brenda Walsh, BScPT
Therapist

august 2008 154Brenda graduated from the University of Alberta in 1986 with a degree in Physiotherapy. She has hospital experience in treating neurological disorders such as strokes, MS and Parkinson’s.

Brenda is a manual therapist and a resident of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapists. She obtained her Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Therapy in 2003. She works with all types of orthopedic problems, with a special interest in shoulder, neck and pelvic dysfunction.

Brenda enjoys designing individualized exercise programs, from sport specific routines from golf to kayaking, to posture, balance and core strengthening exercises.

She also has 13 years experience working with pelvic floor disorders. She has taken many post-graduate courses in Women’s Health, from peri-and post-natal care, to treatment of incontinence, prolapse and pelvic pain.

Brenda worked in Calgary, Australia and Victoria before settling into the Comox Valley. Her interests are kayaking, skiing, cycling, dance and multi-culturalism.

Edwin Betinol, BScPT

Edwin or "Eddy" is a physiotherapist specially trained in Intramuscular Stimulation or IMS.  He provides his IMS services to the clients of Ascent Physiotherapy on Friday afternoons.

James Little is a certified prosthetist who owns and operates a full service company called Vancouver Island Prosthetic Services.  He hold clinical hours at Ascent Physiotherapy when clients need to be seen for fittings or adjustments.

Tona Perry, Office Manager

august 2008 151Tona joined our team in May of 2004.  Since then, she has become the engine that drives us all!  Tona manages all office procedures and is the voice you hear on the phone Monday-Wednesday.  On her days off, she spends her time with her husband and two girls.
